DARK CHOCOLATE 70% CACAO
Juan Choconat transforms cacao from the fruit, buying it directly from the most vulnerable farmers in Colombia. The faces you see in the packaging are the real farmers who harvest the rarest & finest cacao varietals, utilized in these bars.
- Made with just 2 ingredients: cacao nibs and unrefined cane sugar.
- The finest genetics: the trees that produce the beans used in this chocolate are all creole hybrids, the finest cultivar which grows in isolated areas affected by war in Colombia. Less than 2% of the cacao tree population in the world comes from this variety.
- Complex sensory experience: tasting notes usually perceived in this bar are raisins, currants, blueberries, caramel.

Net weight: 2.3 oz per bar.
DARK CHOCOLATE 70% CACAO
Beautiful and smooth. Thank you. Will be back soon to try more. Very artisan and pure.
This 70% bar tasted really good and I loved it only has 2 ingredients. I also loved the packaging and the little band it has on top of it. The social impact this brand seems to have in their producing country (Colombia) is deeper and really sustainable. I have never been there but I know of the poverty and difficulties they have.
I'm a regular consumer of dark chocolate, so I was excited to try two different types of Juan Choconat, the 85%, and this 70%. Typically 85% is more my speed, but with the limited ingredients of this variety, it makes it taste darker than it actually is, and I actually prefer the 70%. The texture has a nice snap to it at first, and melts nicely on the tongue. It's a perfect every day chocolate fix, and antioxidant boost. The closure is cool too, with a roll down type clasp that you'd find on a bag of coffee.
I am a huge chocolate lover and was very curious about this Juan Choconat Dark Chocolate (70% Cacao) Premium Non-GMO Organic Dark Chocolate from Colombia. Based on the description, it is clear that it is not the usual chocolate given that no cocoa butter has been added.
It seems like the creator of this chocolate really wanted to concentrate on the flavor of the cacao bean itself and I have to say that he did a really good job.
The Juan Choconat chocolate is definitely dryer that what I am used to but I actually like it as I get to really taste the cacao which was strong but very pleasant.
Overall, this is a very nice chocolate, it might not be for everyone but I really enjoyed it and will give it a solid 5 stars.
