Juan Choconat transforms cacao from the fruit, buying it directly from the most vulnerable farmers in Colombia. The faces you see in the packaging are the real farmers who harvest the rarest & finest cacao varietals, utilized in these bars.

  • Made with just 2 ingredients: unroasted cacao nibs and unrefined cane sugar.
  • The finest genetics: the trees that produce the beans used in this chocolate are all creole hybrids, the finest cultivar which grows in isolated areas affected by war in Colombia. Less than 2% of the cacao tree population in the world comes from this variety.
  • Complex sensory experience: tasting notes usually perceived in this bar are lemon peel, lemongrass, olives, wood and blueberries.
  • Unroasted = more antioxidants: the cacao beans used in this bar were never exposed to the roasting machine and its high temperatures. Therefore, this bar preserves more of the heat sensitive polyphenols. 
  • Net weight: 2.3 oz per bar.

I love chocolate and am an unashamed chocoholic. As you can imagine I have tried every type and style of chocolate imaginable, but, never anything as good as this. I thoroughly recommend you get your taste buds around this chocolate as soon as you can.

Great tasting hi coco choc in the UK

Wanting something different that tastes great, I had a little bit of time to wait for our chocs as they were been imported from Colombia but we'll worth the wait. The price was a little more than expected but the taste and quality are fantastic... I've been very pleased.
At first due to the shipping problems I was suspicious and suspected a scam but the chocolates eventually came.

I ordered 2 of these bars to try what "unroasted" tastes like. I am a consumer of raw dark chocolates and this bar really impressed me. First of all, it is drier as it does not contain added cocoa butter, which is healthier. I will recognize added cocoa butter in other bars more easily after trying this pure one. Second, the quality of the cocoa beans speaks for itself. A lot of flavors we are not used to in the UK in commercial bars or even in premium ones. It impressed me because all of these experienced flavors come from the cocoa beans naturally. I will order the other unroasted bars because I really liked this one.
