Juan Choconat transforms cacao from the fruit, buying it directly from the most vulnerable farmers in Colombia. The faces you see in the packaging are the real farmers who harvest the rarest & finest cacao varietals, utilized in these bars.
- Made with just 2 ingredients: cacao nibs and unrefined cane sugar.
- The finest genetics: the trees that produce the beans used in this chocolate are all creole hybrids, the finest cultivar which grows in isolated areas affected by war in Colombia. Less than 2% of the cacao tree population in the world comes from this variety.

DARK CHOCOLATE 80% CACAO
Lovely raw feeling taste. Slightly crumbly and most definitely not your average store bought brand. Expensive but perfect as a treat. I use dark chocolate a a treat as part of a lower carb diet.
Dark Chocolate 80% Cacao
A delicious intense chocolate taste with hints of wood smoke and nuts.
The flavor of these bars is worth the premium price. I was unsure at first but I can say it really fits the price after trying this 80% cocoa (or cacao, as they write it). This 80% was my favorite but the 100% was good too. I am just not the man to eat a whole bar of 100% cocoa. What makes this chocolate worth is the unusual flavors. I though a lot about the flavors I was experiencing while the chocolate was melting in my mouth and tasted something citric like lemon peel or lime, banana, plums, wooden notes similar to those tasted in whisky, and spices. I will make a second order with this bar and the non-roasted ones.
I like dark chocolate and this one surprised me. I did not know cocoa butter is counted as part of the percentage of cocoa. I checked other bars at home and all of them have added cocoa butter which motivated me to try this brand. The taste is very complex, with a lot of fruit notes. It is very different than other bars with only chocolate or a few notes. I experienced many flavors in this bar, raisins, red berries and caramel being the most dominant.
